Job Description


NETE is seeking a well-rounded ServiceNow Architect to support our program with the National Institutes of Health, Center for Information Technology (NIH/CIT).


Demonstrate expert knowledge of ServiceNow toolset and integrations with related systems.


Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow ITSM applications as well as implementation and development of new applications on the ServiceNow platform.


Implement and deploy the core suite of ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, and Change)


Develop solutions across the ServiceNow platform that leverage the automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow.


Document solutions in a clear and accurate manner so that resolutions are pushed to the lowest level.


Demonstrate expert knowledge of ServiceNow toolset and integrations with related systems.


Support the team in ServiceNow operations like User/Group administration, reporting, metrics, SLAs, among others. Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems.


Support and enhance reporting solutions both within ServiceNow and through external reporting solutions to support the customer's strategic goals.


Communicate with the customer in non-technical terms, understand their business requirements and provide suitable solutions.


Ensure that proper Change/Release processes are followed.


Should have prior experience implementing and deploying the core suite of ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change), as well as experience developing solutions across the ServiceNow platform that leverage the automation and integration capabilities of ServiceNow.


This role expects work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of software developers and other IT professionals to support, maintain, and enhance the ServiceNow ITSM application in support of the NIH mission. The team is highly collaborative and focused on delivering high value to its customers. You will work in close cooperation with other developers, managers and product owners, as well as work independently on smaller efforts with limited direct supervision.


Opportunity to telework up to 2 days a week will be considered once established and with manager approval.

Responsibilities:


Develop, maintain and enhance applications on the ServiceNow ITSM platform (help desk/service management)
Support the team in ServiceNow operations like User/ Group administration, reporting, Metrics, SLAs, etc.


Leverage both proven and innovative technology approaches to solve challenging business problems
Provide technical assessments, written documentation and technical expertise


Be available for on-call rotation to support any production issues impacting ServiceNow or its related systems within the enterprise supported by the team (rotating amongst the team, so approximately every 6-7 weeks).


Support and enhance reporting solutions both within ServiceNow and through external reporting solutions to support the customer's strategic goals


Contribute to the team’s efforts to consistently meet the KPIs and goals set by the customer


Communicate with the customer in non-technical terms, understand their business requirements, and provide suitable solutions.


Work on continuous improvement by sharing experiences and knowledge within the team


Provide quality and consistent service to the customer.


Required qualifications:


Bachelors degree and 5+ years software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). We are also open to considering a more senior person with additional software development experience.


2+ years ServiceNow development experience (including some or all of the following: Core ITSM applications, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Custom Apps)


Experience with .NET development


Experience implementing scripted web services in ServiceNow


Desired:


ITILv3 Foundations Certification is preferred


ServiceNow Certifications such as Developer, Systems Administration, Implementation Specialist, etc.


Experience following Agile Scrum development


Experience with domain separation is a plus


Additional software development skills and/or the following technologies are strongly preferred


jQuery or Prototype libraries


Java


CMDB/Asset integrations in ServiceNow


SAML, Active Directory, LDAP
