Job Description


NETE is seeking a highly motivated, flexible, results-driven, and detail-oriented SiteScope Support and Operations Engineer Lead. This role will operate, maintain, configure and support the HP SiteScope service that will monitor critical systems 24/7. This role will provide immediate response as needed to ensure the continuity of all monitors. The position will provide customer service and support for other operations, team members, and monitor customers. The support will include managing the completion of any operations and maintenance requests assigned.

Responsibilities:

Work with business owners, technical, and functional teams to design, implement, test, and validate monitoring plans specifically customized for HP SiteScope.
Meet with business and system owners to understand and document desired monitoring plan requirements.
Manage, maintain, implement and test monitoring plans to produce working HP SiteScope monitors, notification alerts, and support schedules that reflect the documented rules.
Manage HP SiteScope support requests through a ticket-based management system for operations and maintenance activities including managing the monitoring plans, implementing monitor changes, notification changes and/or scheduling changes.
Create and maintain new and existing monitors, their configurations and notification schedules, HP SIteScope lifecycle management and system administration of the service (which includes managing the password, patch and upgrade lifecycles).
Provide technical guidance to other engineers and support staff on usage of the HP SiteScope service.
Provide on-call after hours support for escalated problems and conduct bridge calls with Tier III support, Operations Management, and vendors.

Bachelor’s degree in related field.
5 years’ experience working with many types of system components and operating systems.
In-depth knowledge of HP SiteScope.
Ability to configure and manage agentless monitoring types of HP SiteScope including ICMP (Ping), TCP Port-based, URL Content and sequences, database queries, CPU and other performance types, windows web services, JMX, Log file content, and LDAP.
5 years’ experience as system administrator working specifically with current generation of Windows and UNIX servers.
Experience with Windows service account technology and its management.
Experience with analyzing and filtering Windows event viewer logs.
Experience with Microsoft SQL system administration.
Experience with troubleshooting operating system and network issues using common OS and network tools.
