Job Description

We are looking for a one-of-a kind software application engineer to develop and deliver reliable and unbreakable apps and tools for creators.

As our Lead Software Application Engineer and member of the SF Technology and Innovation team, you will have the opportunity to develop and deploy novel audio applications for the pro audio content creation market. You will architect, develop, and implement software applications and plugins for multiple targets: OSX, Windows10, VST, and AAX. Though your development will focus on user-facing applications, you may find yourself venturing into signal processing (audio, sensors etc.), device drivers, embedded firmware, performance tuning, debugging tools, tests and release management domains.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with research team, product and project management, UX design, and users to define and realize software applications and plugins
  • Design software application architecture and develop associated specifications
  • Prototype, develop, debug, and release new audio products
  • Manage code repos, bug bases, and software schedules
  • Uphold coding standards and lead by example, contribute to advancing software best practices for the group

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience writing C++ code in a team setting
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, Xcode development environments and multiplatform GUI frameworks
  • Sensitivity to and awareness of what it takes to deliver solid real-time audio apps or plugins for tools and creators on either or both Windows and OSX platforms
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Exposure to design patterns and advanced software architecture concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Collaborative team player across highly technical interdisciplinary and multicultural teams

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cross platform development
  • Familiarity with automated build systems
  • VR/AR/XR development on Unity or Unreal
  • Exposure to the JUCE framework, Matlab, Python, or Java
  • Conceptual knowledge of one or more of the following audio technologies: 3D audio spatialization, HRTFs, equalization, dynamic range compression, automatic gain control, noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation, microphone array processing and voice activity detection
  • Experience with mobile app development a plus
