Job Description

This engineer will work closely with other engineers and cross functional teams to help ensure the success of current and future products.

The team owns vary from tools used to enable calibration and testing of NPI products to systems that restore the software on each device that a popular consumer electronics company ships to customers.

 

Responsibilities

Specification, development, deployment, and triaging of software used throughout the clients NPI and manufacturing process.

The clients software systems support factories and processes that run close to 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in non-ideal conditions.

Creating software systems that perform at a high level in this environment requires understanding how software interacts with an overall system and how to

collaboratively solve problems.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Design new software systems and maintain existing software systems
  • Review code, run it on top of our SDK code and figure out what is going on and the behavior that is happening.
  • Triage and diagnose issues with a cross-functional team from diverse engineering backgrounds
  • Work with teams both internally and from external vendors to define better solutions and processes
  • Will help with bugs, help analyze logs, behavior, and new feature requests.
  • Work with Hardware test engineers and software engineers.
  • Working with people both in China and US.

 

Required Experience

  • Objective-C is required
  • C or C++ is required
  • LUA Programming is desired
  • Experience using source control systems like Git
  • Ability to debug software bugs, look at existing codes, and make bounded bugs that fixes modification.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent judgment; a self-directed, proactive approach to tackling problems and working through impediment

 

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (internships/co-ops/university
  • experience are applicable)
  • Experience with OS X programming using the Xcode toolchain
  • Scripting skills using Python or Bash
  • Experience with the Lua programming language
  • Experience collaborating with team members in different time zones

 

Location: Work from Home until offices reopen or 100% Remote in PST time zone.

Duration: 6-12 months (can work 100% in PST)
