Work you'll do/Responsibilities

We are looking for a Software Architect for our client's application. The Software Architect will focus on the design and maintenance of a functional area of a large custom application currently hosted in a hybrid environment but needing to be replat formed to a cloud-native environment. The Software Architect will be responsible for designing the application which meets the business needs for that functional area. Both support for the current hybrid implementation and the evolution to a future could native environment are required. Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies is required. Experience with AWS and other hosting options needed. Knowledge of the design and use of a microservice architecture and JVMs required.

•Architecting application designs using Cloud Services or other leading cloud providers
•Building, migrating and testing Cloud environments and integration with other providers
•Designing end to end application and data security
•Leading application migration projects including optimizing technical reliability and improving application performance
•Integration with on-premise applications, cloud providers or other platforms
•Implementing cost optimized solutions (based on usage, business requirements and budget)

The Team
Our Government & Public Sector Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Government & Public Sector Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.

•Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications
•Previous hands-on experience architecting enterprise solutions within the cloud space
•10 yrs. of relevant consulting, industry or technology experience with 3yrs+ in an AWS environment
•Ability to solution and support in other cloud platforms a plus, i.e. Azure and/or GCP
•Understand cloud security from Access Identity Management to Security Groups
•Deep knowledge of automation scripts and tools like bash, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation and Terraform
•Programming experience with Java, J2EE, Python, or Ruby and other java frameworks Apache Camel and Kafka is a must
•Experience with Javascript framework Velocity.js
•3+ years of Scala development experience
•Experience with different database types like RDS and NoSQL
•Understand how to deploy multi-tier application across a custom defined Virtual Private Cloud
•Knowledge of cloud devops
•Ability to design scalable, secure, reliable and efficient technical cloud ecosystems to support enterprise applications
•Experience with API and Gateway functions like Lambda and API Gateway (or equivalent)
•Strong problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills
•Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
•Must be able to relocate or live in the Mechanicsburg, PA area
•Must be able to travel up to 20% (while 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

•AWS certification - Associate/Professional Solution Architect, SysOps Administrator
•Previous DevOps and/or automation experience
