  • 5 years of programming experience
  • 1 year of experience as an architect or in an equivalent role

Preferred Qualifications ?

  • 7 years of experience performing systems design, implementation and administration
  • 7 years of programming experience
  • 3 years of experience as an architect or in an equivalent role
  • Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced technical certifications
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of coding and computer language
  • Software development life cycle process knowledge

Job Summary

The Software Architect establishes the technical strategy within a capability domain; oversees the architectural design, development and deployment of the domain's overall software and/or system; develops the technical vision; and creates the road map to enable that vision.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, document, communicate and enforce the policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary
  • Develop, document and communicate plans for implementing software
  • Prototype and create proof-of-concept implementations for new and existing technologies to make recommendations
  • Develop strategies for dependency management, build systems and continuous integration
  • Collaborate with development teams on best practices, process changes, standards and continuous process improvement topics (unit testing, continuous integration, code reviews, etc.) and build highly maintainable and reusable automation modules
  • Develop a strategic vision for software platforms that enable the broader vision for the Technology team and the business
  • Mentor and coach team members to expand their awareness of other aspects of the company
