Job Description


Tucker-Rose Associates is seeking a Software Developer (.Net) to help support the US Department of Veterans Affairs. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest organizations of the US Federal Government, the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Austin, TX.




  • Perform analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software.
  • Maintain responsibility for activities that range from software design, coding, unit testing, etc.
  • Participate as an active member of the scrum team, providing input to team velocity and sprint ceremonies, planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • Apply knowledge of one or more systems and one or more platforms and programming languages, including .Net, Java, J2EE, JavaScript, etc.
  • Back-end development experience and program extraction, transformation, standardization, aggregation, and mining of data for the repository, including coding web interfaces using SOAP/XML, FHIR/REST and others.



  • 5+ years of relevant experience in software development
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts, principals, and patterns
  • Experience in the creation of error-free .Net code
  • Experience in both Windows and web development environments
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Experience writing software documentation
  • Experience in .Net 4.x Framework, C#, MVC, Web API
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure preferred
  • Experience with providing advice, analysis, and recommendations including service-oriented architecture (SOA), database models, data standards
  • Experience with MS Team Foundation Server or GIT
  • Experience with web-service development, in SOAP/XML, REST, JSON, WSDL a plus
  • Background in developing electronic health record systems is a plus
  • Must be able to acquire a Public Trust security clearance
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) applications
