The job of Software Developer is done for the purpose(s) of assessing operations; ensuring availability of required technology, analyzing customer needs, and developing systems using rapid application development techniques. This position serves as a team leader and mentor in the software development class. Experience in programming in one or more modern high-level structured or object-oriented language is required.

ABILITY to schedule activities; gather, collate, and/or classify data and consider a number of factors when using equipment; analyze data utilizing a complex process; utilize equipment under a variety of conditions for multiple purposes; work independently and with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes, problem solve to analyze issues and create plans using independent interpretation of guidelines; rapidly acquire new development languages; communicate effectively orally and in writing; program utilizing 3GL and 4GL languages; demonstrate skill in object- oriented analysis and design, client/server architecture, and Web applications; establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with staff, the public, and other agency personnel; perform overtime and perform job safely.
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking and 15% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations, a generally hazard free environment, and in a clean work environment.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree from a college/university with emphasis in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Computer Science (CS).
Valid California driver’s license is required
