Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer (Data Science) to work on upstream R&D projects closely with a data science team, performing functional prototyping and facilitating the transfer of successful prototypes to production. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. You will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the company. You will be joining a growing data science team and will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future.
  • Implement REST API endpoints in Python on Linux using Docker
  • Interface with SQL Server databases, HIVE, Kafka, Redis, MongoDb, Elasticsearch
  • Communicate and interact with product managers and end users to create scalable services
  • Work in a rapid prototyping area where the ability to pivot is a must
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience programming using Python and Docker on Linux
  • Experience developing REST APIs using technologies including Flask, Falcon, and Django
  • Unix Shell scripting
  • Proficient with GitHub/Git, or comparable distributed version control system
  • Ability to implement advanced data structures, algorithms and optimizations, Object-Oriented design
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Continuous integration setup and integration experience (Jenkins, Travis, or CircleCI)
  • Kubernetes or Mesosphere experience (preferably Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • DataFrame experience in Python, R, Scala, and Julia (Spark DataFrames, Pandas, DataTables, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Julia, R, Scala, C++, C, or C#
  • Experience working with UIs - JavaScript / CSS / HTML / React
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS
