Job Description

Software Developer

DAT Solutions, is looking for a Software Developer to join our team in Springfield, Missouri.

We are looking for a software developer that is a highly motivated self-starter, that has excellent communication skills, and has the ability to successfully interact with fellow development team members and project managers on a daily basis.

Software Developer Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translates business needs and requirements into technical specifications

  • Reviews functional requirements and analyzes their appropriateness and impact on the software to be built to meet them

  • Documents software designs and project tasks and communicates design to the team

  • Provides initial time estimates for software changes and new software development

  • Writes and organizes new software code to produce new software functionality

  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance

  • Works with Quality Assurance to forge robust and reliable software

Software Developer Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and coding large-scale N-tier systems

  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of IDE-based programming (Visual Basic, Visual C++, Delphi, etc.).

  • Deep commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

  • High productivity and effective time management

  • Ability to communicate accurate status to technical leads and project managers

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity in working with source controlled environments (VSS, SVN, etc..)

  • Oracle background and knowledge

  • Experience with SOAP/REST, WSDL, and/or XML

Candidates must be willing and able to take full responsibility for a project or task from concept to completion with minimal supervision. They must also have a desire to collaborate, share ideas, and works towards common team/company goals.
