Job Description

Solidus has an exciting opportunity for highly motivated Software Safety Engineers to join a systems engineering organization whose main objective is to influence hardware, software, and systems throughout all phases of a system's life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability and economical ownership by the customer and end users.

The candidates will be integral participants in the design/development process and be responsible for performing risk analyses to identify risks and influence design to eliminate or minimize safety hazards. The Software Safety Engineers will work with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for software safety on a large scale, real-time Radar program. As a multi-discipline engineer, they will have influence over the system as a whole, to include software and hardware.

Required Skills:
- ====ship and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related science/technology
- 7+ years of prior experience or a background in System Safety Engineer, Software Safety Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer
- Knowledge of Software safety analysis and safety requirements development
- Ability to understand Object Oriented Programming Languages, including C++, C or Ada

Desired experience and skills:
- Active Secret preferred
- Aerospace and defense industry background
- Demonstrated understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (including Agile and/or Waterfall)
- Developing and verifying system and/or software requirements
- Software Management tools, such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) database tool, Clearcase, Windchill Product Data Manager (PDM), Jenkins
- Planning, performing analyses, and reporting results IAW MIL-STD-882
- Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-454, MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-1474, Missile Defense Agency Assurance Provisions (MAP), MIL-STD-464, Joint Software System Safety Committee (JSSSC) Handbook, MIL-STD-1425, and AMCOM 385-17
- Software System Safety Technical Review Panels (SSSTRP) or Software Material Release activities
