The Software Support Engineer participates in requirements gathering, analysis, program design, coding, QA, documentation, software support and other programming, troubleshooting, and change control tasks needed to produce reports and interfaces and support the company's Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other information systems. Develops and maintains the data interfaces between related programs and systems. Essential Functions:
- Codes/implements/integrates/documents necessary software objects (programs, reports, scripts, etc.) utilizing team's supported language/tools.
- Creates test plans and performs QA for their and their team's software objects.
- Assists both internal and external customers in finding solutions to their need for information as it related to the interfacing of disparate applications throughout the enterprise, spanning multiple architectures.
- Implement strategies necessary to reach objectives of the organization through the development and delivery of technology based applications - Collects business requirements, analyzes/designs solutions, provides excellent customer service.
2 years Information Technology - Applications Engineer and proficient in Lawson HR/Payroll/Financials, Purchasing/Materials Management & Mobile Supply Chain, ERP self-service, or ERP system administration functions.
Completion of three successful projects as a lead analyst is required.
3 years project experience in design, development, maintenance and implementation projects.
1 year project experience in the implementation of software systems from outside vendors involving multiple information systems software support personnel.
3 years coding experience
Nice to Have:
2 years of ERP implementation, programming, and maintenance support software projects
2 years user experience with ERP tools such as Lawson LID, animator, and Lawson portal
1 year user experience with ERP reporting tools such as Lawson Business Intelligence OTHER REQUIREMENTS
This position will utilize a variety of programming languages such as: SQL, VB & JAVA Scripting, Crystal Reports, HTML, Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft SSIS, and Micro Focus COBOL. Effective communication skills with internal customers, external customers, and vendors; ability to function well in stressful situations; ability to function well as part of a team; and the ability to resolve routine to complex problems by following departmental procedures with minimal guidance and supervision.
