Job Description

Our direct client is one of the largest grocery and pharmacy retailers with 2,300+ stores across the U.S. operating many prominent and well-known banners.

They are looking for a Solutions Architect.

Duration: Contract to hire

Title: Solution Architect

Location: Pleasanton, CA. Remote OK.

This senior-level individual contributor is primarily responsible for leading the development of the
strategic technology direction over technical domains and developing the future state
enterprise architecture, while ensuring alignment on IT architecture and technology direction
across business and IT leaders.

Position Purpose
Help to build clients next-generation health and wellness platforms and deliver on a multi-
year roadmap that delivers new and transformational wellness experiences that is integrated in
their grocery business.

The Health and Wellness Solutions Architect will work closely with Product, Agency, Business, UX, Data teams, and more to define and govern the architecture and platform solution.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

1. Take part in the design and development of digital capabilities within Health and Wellness to
enable the creation of impactful communication across channels and markets for its customers. This will cover pharmacists as well as consumer-facing businesses.

2. Define the technology plan including Business architecture, Target, and Solution
Architectures and strategic technology roadmaps through a partnership with Pharmacy
and grocery portfolio leaders to understand and define the technology strategy, drivers,
objectives and requirements needs.

3. Stays abreast of current and emerging data technologies and trends and advises on how
they can be used to support business and technology objectives. Builds prototypes to
determine feasibility when warranted.

4. Continuously assess and communicate portfolio technology risk and opportunities to
pharmacy technology leadership while maintaining & enhancing the Pharmacy
Architecture repository.

5. Attends governing committee meetings as a committee member and advises and designs
concepts originating in the governing committee. Collaborates with Regulatory team on
current and; future requirements, determining build and workflow changes, and engaging
operations on net new/changing workflows

6. Work closely with Product Management, Architecture, Data Engineering, Quality
Engineering and Information Security groups to define and deliver the overall solution
including contributing to the roadmap of the backlog of priorities.

7. Continuous partnership with cross-functional teams, including vendor partners, to
ensure all solutions are being developed with continuity of the enterprise solution
ecosystem, while meeting all HIPPA/PHI, security, data governance, legal, risk and
compliance standards.

Qualifications

Significant experience with high-volume consumer-facing eCommerce or other web applications.
Hands-on Experience with web (Java, J2EE, Angular/React/JQuery, Java, REST, etc.) and mobile (Kotlin, IOS, Android, Swift, Objective C, etc) technologies.
Deep experience with running and scaling applications on the cloud infrastructure and containerized services like Kubernetes.
Experience gained in a Senior Architect role, leading, or mentoring a small team of more technical leads and engineers, able to guide them, review their work, drive best practice.
Significant understanding of and experience in best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.
Proven analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
High energy levels and tolerance for tight deadlines and time pressures.
High-level project management experience.
Good communications skills, both verbal and written - for building relationships, managing stakeholders, working with clients and delivery teams.

Desired:

Exposure in Healthcare or Pharmacy systems with significant understanding of
pharmacy security compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR, GxP etc.) and integration
standards (e.g., HL, GS1, etc.)
Exposure in the following products or similar systems: PDX Enterprise Pharmacy System,
Toshiba POS.
