Smartronix Inc. a Premier Amazon Web Services Consulting Partner and Microsoft Gold partner is currently seeking a Big Data Solutions Architect with a passion for technology, the ability to understand and assess new technologies and understanding their applicability to business. We are seeking a driven individual who has a desire to work with some of the best Cloud Architects in the Market. Today Smartronix serves Fortune 1000 Financial, Healthcare, and government agencies and other regulated markets worldwide in delivery of Cloud Services.

As a Big Data Architect with Smartronix, work would include supporting cutting-edge Big Data solutions for Fortune 500 businesses; build a corporate practice; make a significant mark, both within our organization and with our clients; while working with an exceptionally talented, committed, and dynamic team. Solutions Architects play a defining role in Smartronix Big Data practice while performing a range of critical activities, such as architecting a solution and leading a development team. You will work at the intersection of business and technology.

This position will have high visibility while interacting directly with executive-level clients. This opportunity will be given extensive, customized leadership and training opportunities to complement your cutting edge work.

+ Provide hands-on subject matter expertise to build and implement Hadoop-based Big Data solutions
+ Research, evaluate, architect, and deploy new tools, frameworks, and patterns to build sustainable Big Data platforms for our clients
+ Design and implement complex highly scalable statistical models and solutions that comply with security requirements
+ Work with some of the hottest new technologies
+ Identify gaps and opportunities for the improvement of existing client solutions
+ Interact with, collaborate with, and guide clients, including at the executive level
+ Define and develop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterprise
+ Actively collaborate with other architects and developers in developing client solutions

Required Skills

+ 5+ years of hands-on large-scale software development / integration experience using Java/J2EE technologies
+ 2+ years of hands-on experience with the technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem like Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, Cloudera Impala, Zookeeper, Oozie, Hue, Kafka
+ Proven ability to make decisions in technology selection and implementation approach based on long-term strategic objectives, while taking into consideration short-term implications for ongoing or planned implementations
+ Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems and to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Experience with search systems (Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch)
+ Exposure to high availability configurations, Hadoop cluster connectivity and tuning, and Hadoop security configurations
+ Good understanding of relational databases and solid SQL skills
+ Good understanding of Operating Systems (Unix/Linux), Networks, and System Administration experience
+ Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions (VMWare and Amazon Cloud) with hands-on experience in direct API integration is an advantage
+ Experience using advanced interpersonal abilities with with client-facing systems implementation projects
+ Interest in learning and contributing to teaching others through contributions to open source projects and mentoring junior resources
+ BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
