Responsibilities
Serve as the lead for decomposing the system requirements into the Space segment A spec. Manage the Space segment requirements and track requirement traces from the Space Segment Spec to the Space Segment subsystems and unit level using MBSE tools and principles. Advise the Government on Space segment acquisition, ECPs, and system margin.
• Requirements generation, validation and verification for the Space Segment Spec
• Decomposition of the Space Segment Spec into Space subsystem Specs
• Decomposition of the Space subsystem Specs into unit specifications
• Capture requirements down to the unit level in SysML models
• Generate and or review RVTMs at the unit, subsystem, and space system level
• Generate RFP documents in support of Spacecraft ECPs
• Capture TPMs to assess Space Segment projected performance
• Employ agile practices for the decomposition and acquisition of requirements
• Capture system Margin using MBSE tools
• Conduct requirement traces using MBSE tools
Space Segment Requirements/Acquisition Engineerdesigns, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Qualifications
Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D.
Applicant should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a technical field such as Physics, Math or Astronautics and 10 years' engineering experience with RF systems. Candidates with equivalent educational background and demonstrated experience will be considered. Candidates must have a proven ability to effectively work with major developmental contractors. Applicants should be able to convey complex technical and programmatic issues concisely to senior management and be flexible and creative problem solvers.
