Job Summary

The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing the next generation of innovative spacecraft designs to solve the most challenging problems of our US Space Force, Intelligence Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers
  • Applying the capability and responsibility that comes with knowledge of the entire range of space systems development, regardless of acquisition agency or contractor, while scrupulously protecting its proprietary and classified characteristics
  • Performing in-depth risk assessments of proposed space systems to recommend the optimum balance of capability vs. cost
  • Serving on multi-disciplinary teams that review contractor spacecraft designs with technical skillfulness and objectivity to ensure that the systems meet their requirements
  • Performing independent research on future systems and components toward enhancing capabilities and cost-effectiveness

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Level 1
  • BS degree in engineering, science, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience beyond BS degree
  • Experience with the development of spacecraft systems
  • Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including translation of enterprise and architecture-level requirements into viable system design candidates
  • Infrequent domestic travel ( 10%)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Additional Minimum Requirements for Level 2
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience beyond BS degree

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • MS or PhD degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with the development of complex models and simulations to analyze vehicle and payload design and performance
  • Proficiency in commercial simulation tools/programming languages, including one or more of: MATLAB, Python, Simulink, STK, C++, SolidWorks
  • Current or active TS/SSBI
