Splunk Architect Job Description:
Technical leadership in Splunk delivery projects, with involvement as solution & technical architect, key technical subject matter expert, evangelist and liaison to project, business and executive stakeholders during all stages of the project/program delivery.
Advises project team and customer on Splunk & ITSI implementation approach, strategy, integration, deployment, and adoption of best practices to ensure customer recognizes value from the deployed software after deployment.
Internal technical leadership to share project best practices, architecture guidance and process approach, create/support product enhancement requests, and provide supporting information such as technical and business criteria , use cases and KPIs from project activities.
Provide and encourage mentoring activities within projects, working to build common professional and technical skills sets for the professional services field team.
Within The Project Organization
delivers solutions that include Splunk best practices, customer goals and priorities, and practical implementation considerations, to project architecture collateral and roadmaps.
Contributes to all aspects of project technical planning including customer kick-off, project and, deliverables review.
Contributes to and owns appropriate technical processes and deliverables, including Technical Architecture workshops and documentation, and documentation of 'as-is' and 'as-planned' solution assessments and environment health reviews.
Assists Project Manager with project and program management including: Governance Plan, Customer Training Strategy, Change Control Artifacts, Testing and Deployment Strategy.
Engages with executive stakeholders to drive successful project and program outcomes; Works interactively with all project staff, both internal and customer. Transfer knowledge to others within Service as part of post implementation retrospective and review activity.
Provides mentoring skills and guidance to foster the technical and professional development of internal Architect candidates within the Service Delivery organization.
Critical Competencies :
Demonstrates expert knowledge and awareness of the Splunk Enterprise & ITSI technology and delivery methodology;
Expert level understanding of Splunk enterprise & ITSI software in the capacity of Infrastructure & Application monitoring, Anomaly Detection, Predictive analytics using Splunk Machine learning tool kit, Event management & Correlation Analytics engine.
Skills in technical areas which support the deployment and integration of element monitoring tools with Splunk based solutions, Splunk ITSI, Apps and Add-ons for monitoring and data integrations- including Infrastructure, Network, OS, DB, Middleware, Storage; Application, Virtualization, Cloud Architectures etc.
Integration experience of Splunk with ITSM Solution viz. Service Now is required for automating incident management workflows & CMDB for enrichment, escalation and topology synchronizations.
Experience with ITIL & Event management best practices including DevOps framework for ITOps
Multiple Programming languages viz. Java scripting, Python, shell scripting based development is preferred
Holds Splunk certification Architect & Admin level is preferable
Has good written and verbal communication skills.
Solution oriented mindset
Prioritizes and manages time to deliver on commitments;
Ideally ITIL Certification level
Ideally Splunk Architect and Admin level certification.
Maintains advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Visio, Project and other relevant tools.
10+ relevant year's technical IT experience that includes:
6+ relevant years in Splunk & ITSI based deployment experience.
4+ relevant years deploying Enterprise Management Software Solutions.
