The primary purpose of this role is to support clinical applications, primarily Allscripts Touchworks EHR at the client site by analyzing client processes to optimize system use, implementing application enhancements and performing maintenance to ensure the best application performance. Allscripts Touchworks experience required.
+ Possess strong technical knowledge of the application.
+ Design, test and implement configuration improvements to the applications.
+ Meet with client leadership, clinicians and end users to provide expertise on the EMR guide decision-making for application design.
+ Demonstrate new functionality to client teams seeking inputs on future direction.
+ Ensure that the current solutions meet client needs and expectations.
+ Work under the direction of the manager to provide clinical application solutions for assigned business areas.
+ Identify common causes of defects, prioritize them and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur.
+ Design and execute functional, integration and regression test plans for new application functionality, product releases and enhancement and regulatory modifications using clinical scenarios and use cases.
+ Estimate effort for self and agree on schedules with Project Manager
+ Create and maintain appropriate documentation.
+ Train colleagues on back end application administration.
+ Analyze and diagnose problems reported by the help desk, provide support for escalated issues.
+ Provide support as needed during go-lives and system upgrades.
+ Maintain a thorough understanding of workflow policies and procedures as it relates to the Touchworks application.
+ Accurately estimate effort for self and agree schedules with manager.
+ Liaise with manager; keep manager informed of progress.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
* Successful completion of a Bachelors Degree or relevant database experience.
* 3-5 years industry experience preferred
* 3-5 years Allscripts Touchworks experience preferred
Allscripts Touchworks experience required
* May require occasional local travel
* May require after hours on call support
* Work is performed in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
