The role of Account Manager at SAIC is one of responsibility, leadership and energy. Account Managers are the senior leaders of accounts, singularly responsible for the success of their account. They are the business owners; charged with growth, expansion and operations across a wide area of SAIC business. They have at their command the resources of the corporation and all market segments in the achievement of ambitious growth targets. Among key responsibilities are business development and capture management, consistently working across market segments and all internal resources to ensure a continuous stream of new profitable business for the company. Account Managers have the resources of the company at their disposal to protect, expand and grow business for SAIC.

The Department of Energy Account Manager (DOE AM) will begin as a Senior Director reporting into the Operations Manager for SAIC Transportation, Energy and NASA businesses (TEN). S/he will become the thought leader for driving strategic growth into the account, with direct line responsibility to the COO of SAIC on all Energy related operations. S/he will have command of personnel and materials sufficient to achieve a level of growth to justify the -named account- status for Federal Civilian account managers.

The DOE AM will be responsible for ensuring excellence in all aspects of business operations of his/her account to include (not an exclusive list):
- Operations
- Finance
- Personnel Performance
- Business Development
- Target Achievement

Desired Experience

- 15+ years of experience with DOE HQ or labs, complex system strategy and/or business development

- Experience with large program management or large program capture management within the past 5 years

- Demonstrated ability and reputation:

- Winning complex government programs in some or all of the following

- US Citizenship Required


- System integration
- Engineering
- Technology services
- Cloud migration
- Software as a service
- Cloud services
- Technology / program support

-Client and personnel management

-P+L or financial responsibility at the opportunity, program or account level

-Management and relationship building at the C-level either in civilian or government space


- Federal government - DOE or other civilian

- Drive multiple teams from acquisition identification to program performance
- Express the single sales objective (SSO) of the client to proposal and technical teams; convey content confidently to senior clients
- Prospecting - ability to identify and work with business development teams to qualify new opportunities for SAIC
- Portfolio Management - Manage DOE programs across multiple locations

- Strong communicator (oral and written): i.e. ability to frame and articulate key messages in executive language
- Ability to execute a proposal strategy and serve as Executive Summary lead for most proposals
- Command of the client - ability to represent with ease SAIC to target clients - and develop new and profitable relationships
