Purpose of Role

Reporting to the US Trikafta Medical Affairs Lead, this role is responsible for the strategic and operational support of the medical strategies and brand plans for the existing portfolio and pipeline products in the US, as aligned to the scientific and medical objectives of the company.

Additionally, the position will ensure the communication of plans with key internal stakeholders within Medical Affairs (such as US Field Medical, Canada Medical Affairs, BMTs, Congress Center of Excellence, GMI) and cross functionally. The successful candidate will have the ability to navigate the matrix of stakeholders and cross-functional partners to successfully help develop and monitor the US Medical Affairs strategy and objectives.

  • Work closely with the TRIKAFTA NAMA and KLD/OKB/SYM Leads:
  • Support the development and track the progress of medical plans, comprising launch plans by maintaining Brand dashboards and reports
  • Support relevant updates to or from cross-functional teams
  • Support the preparation of meeting materials for Senior Leadership updates
  • Participate in NAMA Brand meetings by preparing and distributing agendas and meeting materials, writing and monitoring the execution of action items, developing and distributing relevant communications
  • Provide Operational / Project Management Support to the US Cystic Fibrosis TA Lead
  • For the USMA meetings (USMA CF team regular and ad-hoc meetings, cross-functional team working sessions), prepare and distribute agendas and meeting materials, write and monitor the execution of action items, develop and distribute relevant communications through the agreed channels
  • Develop, measure and report on the impact of US Medical Affairs: manage a Calendar of key USMA activities, deliverables, and meetings; summarize NAMA team key accomplishments and upcoming activities on a monthly basis as part of ongoing Executive-level dashboards to communicate status & issues to Medical leadership; coordinate the generation of quarterly North America medical Affairs Insight reports.
  • Define, implement, and drive processes to improve coordination and execution across Brands to deliver on US Medical Affairs annual strategic and launch plans.
  • Support the preparation of meeting materials for Senior Leadership updates
  • Support the collaboration and communication with Field Medical Leadership Team, Global Medical Affairs head Quarters teams, key cross functional counterparts (US CRC, US Commercial, Managed Markets), and other groups as needed.
  • Lead the ongoing budgetary processes as part of annual business planning and review of USMA expenses, providing critical analysis and forecasting.

  • Bachelor's degree, minimum, Scientific degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of medical/scientific affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, and at least 3 years of experience in strategy and/or operational leadership roles (eg. Headquarters Medical Affairs, Field Medical Affairs,)
  • Demonstrated experience and success leading large operational and change initiatives in a healthcare delivery system outside of biopharma will also be considered
  • Broad understanding of US and Global Medical, Regulatory and Commercial environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, as well as a proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines
  • Highly organized with a focus on execution, problem solving, and improving processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead without authority
  • Strong influence, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed analytical skills to provide impact assessments of programs and ability to identify changes in practices that are data driven.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide structure to ambiguous situations and to proactively identify and define the need for specific analyses and programs, as well as driving foresight
