Members of the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) interact with project personnel, IPT leads, functional homeroom, quality assurance, internal and external auditors, and occasionally customers.
Main responsibilities include working with projects to ensure they have adopted and adapted/tailored the organization's standard process to meet specific project goals (cost, process, and quality); the collection, evaluation and dissemination of process improvement suggestions across the Software Systems directorate by working with SEPG representatives from the various centers; and the collection and analysis of project quality and productivity metrics. Additional responsibilities include working with projects to determine root cause and corrective action of defects and assisting projects during internal and external audits (AS9100, DCMA and CMMI). Other tasks may include working with projects and proposals to produce cost estimates and proposal input, supporting independent review teams, and providing process training to the organization. Knowledge of IEEE Standards, AS9100, CMMI-Dev, SEER-SEM, and statistical analysis tools is useful.
The candidate is expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starters/able to work autonomously with minimal direction.
Basic Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and9 years of software engineering experience OR Master's Degree in (STEM) and7 years of software engineering experience OR PhD Degree in (STEM) and 4 years of software engineering experience
Keen understanding and demonstrated experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret or higher clearance
- Knowledge of the various frameworks (AS9100, IEEE, CMMI), statistical analysis and cost analysis (i.e., SEER-SEM)
