Job Description

Members of the MemorialCare Quality Assurance (QA) job family, work side by side our Epic Analysts, Solution Architects, and Project Managers to test changes to the Epic application as well as interface systems to validate their continued function, and ultimately transform the way that MemorialCare provides healthcare. MemorialCare's Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Team develops creative testing strategies to achieve common end goals while collaborating with our Epic teams as well as our end users.

TheSr. Software Quality Assurance Coordinatoris a recognized QA subject matter expert, leveraginga combination of comprehensive software QA process experience, knowledge of integrated healthcare information systems, and demonstrated project management skills to lead all software testing efforts at MemorialCare. They verify and ensure the health, stability and overall quality of Epic and interfaced systems. They actively identify opportunities to apply industry best practices and standards to continuouslyand significantlyimprove SQA processes at MemorialCare. They evaluate all available tools to implement testing automation wherever possible, allowing SQA processes to simultaneously be made more comprehensive and more efficient. It is essential for this individual to be highly collaborative as they need to influence senior business leaders, functional leadership, as well as project and application managers.This individual must also be able to work independently with very limited oversight.

Essential Functionsand Responsibilitiesof the Job

  1. Stay abreast of current and emerging industry SQA best practices
  2. Lead IS QA projects by setting team direction and taking corrective actions when deviations stray from plans as necessary
  3. Identify opportunities to streamline QA processes
  4. Coordinate the life cycle of testing for all projects
  5. Collaborate with other teams to manage timelines and develop testing features
  6. Facilitate issue resolution
  7. Plan and coordinate all testing activities including KPIs
  8. Lead meetings and collaborate across teams through the testing process
  9. Lead coordination of testing across all involved parties both within and external to MemorialCare
  10. Be at workandbe on time
  11. Follow company policies, procedures and directives
  12. Interact in a positive and constructive manner
  13. Prioritize and multitask


  • Minimum 7 years experience as a systems analyst, QA analyst, system services, or similar experience; preferably with involvement in the Epic application
  • Demonstrated experience managing QA efforts for large, enterprise-wide software implementations
  • Experienced leading projectsin a team situation meeting aggressive deadlinesfrom start to finish requiring various types of software testing processes (from unit testing through acceptance testing) anddeep knowledge ofvarious types of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, APF, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience assessing current-state QA processes, and implementing SQA best practices and related technologies, reducing waste and maximizing efficiency. Attained success through constantly seeking opportunities to improve quality and testing approaches
  • Demonstrated detailed understanding of Health Level-7 (HL7) international standards for health information exchange
  • Demonstrated use of relevant out of the box thinking in conjunction with organization wide standardization. Understanding of key business applications and related information technologies. Analytical, logical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision to manage multiple priorities. Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities and shift priorities to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experienced working with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, and interacting with all levels of the organization using effective communication and interpersonal relations to achieve established goals.Past success leading meetings for business requirements and technical solutions
  • Proven ability to provide education and speak to large audiences
  • Demonstrated detailed understanding of various types of software testing processes (regression testing, negative testing, etc.)
  • Experienced working in an Information Technology context, familiarity with PCs, networks, information management systems, project management systems, and quality assurance management systems
  • Demonstrated independent working nature, requiring minimal direction. Aptitude to conceptualize, plan, and implement individually stated goals and objectives
  • Past success learning new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently. Experienced testing on multiple platforms
  • Proven ability to manageand maintainaccountability for success of assigned tasks


  • Bachelor'sdegreeor an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required
  • Epic certification obtained within first year in new role
