This fully seasoned Senior level Business Analyst s role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders (Customers or End Users). This includes interviewing stakeholders, gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need. The Business Analysts will also apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help the business make good technology decisions. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group (not necessarily by all) but would not be an "automatic" promotional level. Defines and documents internal and external user interfaces and supports system and data requirement clarification and definition. Also, acting as the liaison among internal stakeholders to analyze, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements for platform applications.
Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program

The Senior Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners for the City of Atlanta. The focus of this position is to work closely with Client agencies to gain in-depth understanding of the customer's business strategy, processes, services, road-map and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding the documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from providing business analysis services to small and mid-size projects to larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect client customers.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with the selection from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks. Applies organizational policies; may interpret organizational policies and recommend exceptions. Helps establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Persons applying must have a bachelor s degree in Business Administration or a related field and three years of Information Systems experience, analyzing and redesigning business processes, and providing business requirements to technical teams. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be determined under prescribed guidelines.
Licenses and Certifications:
IIBA Certification (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) highly recommended but not mandatory.
