Job Description


USIT is looking for a Sr. Configuration Management Specialist to Establish and/or maintain a system to record modifications to hardware, software or documentation. Maintain allocated, functional and physical baseline control and ability to perform audit support. Assist with the review of engineering change requests to assess impact upon configuration baseline and logistics support elements Maintain configuration control records and technical documents. This position works closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure accurate and well-documented product baseline.

* Must have a NACLC investigation already in progress or completed Secret Clearance

* Must be a US Citizen

* This is primarily a remote position, it will require occasional travel to Ft. Belvoir, VA for meetings, would prefer commutable distance

* Configuration Management Certifications i.e. ITIL, CM, CMPIC, CMII, CM2, CMTF, CCMP, NDIA, etc


Required Qualifications

* Five (5) years of relevant experience with the following:

* ITSM Remedy tool experience

* Provide Enterprise Configuration Management support for Commercial-off-the-shelve COTS) software technologies using industry best practices.

* Provide support to the Configuration Control Steering Group (CCSG) and Enterprise Configuration Control Board (ECCB).

* Review the existing Configuration Control Working Group Structure and provide recommendations as to which should be eliminated, which should remain, and any new Configuration Control Working Groups (CCWG) which should be created. This operating structure is expected to mature with time.

* Document and disseminate meeting minutes and action items of CCWGs. Report on upcoming changes that have impacts and/or dependencies on other systems/applications.

Improve collaboration and communication of changes to reduce the frequency and severity of unplanned application outages or degraded performance issues.

* Document unplanned application outages, performance issues, and their cause. Collect Metrics for operational issues.

* Primary Deliverable: Configuration Management analysis and/or reports

* Configuration Management Certification

* Must have a NACLC investigation already in progress or completed

* Must be a US Citizen

* This is primarily a remote position, it will require occasional travel to Ft. Belvoir, VA for meetings, would prefer commutable distance
