The Sr. Desktop Support Coordinator supports and maintains in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all organizational hardware and software while ensuring its optimal performance. The holder of this position will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required. The Sr. Desktop Support Coordinator will be a training resource for the Desktop Support Technicians and Help Desk Staff. They will also be responsible for end-user support of Library-wide client-server applications, and will troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work orders) in a timely and accurate fashion. The successful candidate will develop, manage and administer all aspects of the library’s desktop environment. The Sr. Desktop Support Coordinator is responsible for all services related to support of both Mac and Windows desktop computers. The Sr. Desktop Coordinator is expected to work independently and as a member of a team, to analyse and solve problems, and to manage projects. Work requires initiative and judgment and is often expected to be performed with little supervision. The person in this position will handle special projects and solve problems that are escalated from the helpdesk.
