Job Description


The Sr. Project Manager provides oversight for all phases of the project or sprint life cycle. The Sr. Project Manager also analyzes and documents business requirements/user stories and assists business owners and the procurement team with creating Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) documentation. This position will coordinate vendor demonstrations and selections, lead project team meetings or conference calls, and coordinate testing, training, and implementation activities to ensure successful project deployment. They will also create project plans, timelines, and task assignments while holding team members accountable through project completion.

The Sr. Project Manager will perform ongoing Vendor Management administration for the organization as well as assist with the development of new vendor workflows and methodology.  This team member will possibly facilitate annual vendor reviews and perform ongoing monitoring utilizing vendor software. The Sr. Project Manager attends and assists with Operational Oversight Committee meetings and produces monthly/weekly/daily reporting. This team member strives to maintain team harmony and demonstrates Greyhound core values.


  • Assist project manager by managing projects, improving documentation, honing methodology, and managing organizational change
  • Participating in or leading Operational Oversight Committee meetings and responsible for preparing meeting minutes and monthly OOC Project Status board report
  • Create and develop comprehensive plans for projects or systems, assuring that projects conform to tactical objectives. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Assist Business Owners / Project Sponsors in developing Requests for Information (RFI’s) and Requests for Proposal (RFP’s)
  • Perform all vendor selection activities including development of the requirements, comparison of alternate solutions, project scope and cost/benefit analysis
  • Coordinate project team efforts to build project plans of the required tasks, needed resources, and dependencies in order to meet the committed deliverables for a project
  • Provide product roll-out oversight for new products and services including coordination of system requirements, test plans, staff training, and procedure/documentation completion
  • Manage diverse, multi-departmental project teams to ensure successful execution of projects on-time and on-budget. Report project status to management, project sponsors, and committees
  • Perform ongoing vendor management activities including coordination of initial due diligence efforts and ongoing monitoring. Assist with the development of improved workflows, forms and processes related to the vendor management program

  • Responsible for overcoming difficulties associated with the project and responsible for raising issues to upper management in a timely and objective manner.
  • Understand the business from a strategic level. Liaison with business owners, coming up with logical solutions to meet business needs
  • For Agile specific projects, manage and publish Sprint Dates. Schedule daily scrum meetings, sprint demos, and retrospective recurring meetings
  • Accountable for the customer’s satisfaction with IT services as a result of the project work effort
  • Ensure team adherence to corporate and departmental standards and policies. Review and approve project artifacts, project plans, business cases, test results, documentation, and training materials, etc.
  • Provide after hour production outage support
  • Verify that documentation developed or presented for review complies with current departmental procedures
  • Responsible for soliciting day-to-day status from project team members on all project matters


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Project management certification a plus but not required
  • Current Certified Scrum Master Certification (CSM) a plus but not required
  • User Story formatting, prioritization, and estimation
  • Experience with Agile work management tools including set-up, planning and reporting - Experience with Microsoft DevOps preferred
  • Familiarity with benefits of test-driven development, automated testing, continuous integration / continuous delivery, pair programming / mob programming
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Ability to facilitate problem-solving in a group setting
  • Ability to manage and facilitate conflict resolution
  • Ability to motivate team and handle diverse inter-personal relationships
