Our Opportunity:

The Corporate Information Technology group in Charles Schwab & Co.'s IT organization is comprised of several teams that support the goals of Schwab?s internal corporate functions through the delivery of technology, operations, and projects.  The goal of the Employee Digital Experience Mobile Development team is to partner closely with enterprise business and technology partners to define and enable a consumer-like internal employee mobile technology experience within Schwab to enhance our employees? productivity and effectiveness.  Our focus is to deliver solutions that align with the Digital Workplace Blueprint and Roadmap and various lines of business strategies through an agile and customer-aligned approach.


What you?ll do:

  • Prepare specifications, design, develop, and support mobile applications and prepare documentation per Schwab mobile standards and best practices.
  • Assess and optimize designs through review, evaluation tools, and analysis to ensure optimal user experiences for phones and tablets.
  • Create and perform unit testing for the spectrum of mobile devices.
  • Build cross-platform mobile apps, support the mobile systems in production, and troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Primary responsibilities include working closely with Tech Directors to ensure technical specifications are accurate and implementable, and ensuring code base is solid by conducting thorough code reviews.
  • Work with Product Owner to influence and implement the vision of the employee mobile program at Schwab.
  • This position will also be responsible for hands-on coding as well as mentoring more junior developers.


What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis, engineering or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience developing and delivering enterprise-quality software
  • 5-7 years of experience developing mobile applications
  • Demonstrated work experience in C#, .NET Core, .NET Standard, Xamarin.Android, Xamarin.iOS, and Xamarin.Forms
  • Experience with iOS, Android, CSS, Angular, SQL Server, C#, HTML, TFS, JIRA
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript (Angular, Backbone, React), Razor, and progressive web design
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB database design, data design, and comparison to relational databases
  • Deep knowledge of API (RESTful, SOAP), API Management, and building scalable and high performance Web APIs
  • Experience with microservice architectures
  • Securing APIs and experience developing services that are identified by both consuming application and end-users and securing services across both constructs with OAuth, SAML, two-factor, or custom authentication schemes (mobile security)
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to build, test, and deploy application artifacts
  • Demonstrable portfolio of released applications on the Apple App Store or the Android market
  • Experience developing and implementing unit testing strategy and approach
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Ability to advocate for software engineering across functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively applying agile best practices
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience handling distributed teams and managing multiple projects
