Senior Project Manager of Occupational Health and Safety
In this position, you can impact and lead population-based campus initiatives, with an initial focus on the SARS-CoV-2 response. You will report directly to the Deputy Director of EH&S and collaborate closely with the Medical Director of Occupational Health Center. You will deliver project management, strategic planning, data analysis, and implementation support for special initiatives as assigned by the Deputy Director and Medical Director. You will also:
Take projects from original concept through final implementation. Work is typically comprised of 50%-time contribution towards project leadership and 50% as a technical contributor.
Perform the full range of project management cycle: initiating, planning, analyzing, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Lead projects requiring cross-functional integration. Complete sub-project and/or stand-alone elements.
Direct development of an action plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus within scope of responsibility.
Develop and help execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders on a focused project; actively manage resistance to change.
Plan-Key player in campus-wide planning efforts as it relates to health and safety, with an initial focus on the COVID-19 response, including establishing and optimizing the testing infrastructure in partnership with School of Medicine and Vaden Health Center, and interfacing with HealthCare and other internal and external partners, including the local Counties, as part of case notification and response.
Be responsible for researching, analyzing, proposing and implementing special projects, both developing policy and benchmarking with peer institutions as part of the strategic initiatives. This position will collaborate regularly with IT and analytics groups to develop dashboards and interfaces for various campus populations to analyze data for decision support.
Creating materials and develop communication and action plans to promote and support initiatives and programs. The ability to build and maintain effective and strong business relationships is critical, as this position will lead projects that require cross-functional commitment and engagement from leadership within EH&S and across the university.
You will be expected to work effectively and create/build on relationships with important external constituents as well.
Work closely and in collaboration with the other senior staff and members of the university response team and other working groups, the candidate will frequently directly support the OHC Medical Director in researching and developing proposals, as well as interface with EH&S leadership on various campus initiatives.
The Medical Director and EH&S leadership will assign a wide variety of projects (some long-term, some brief), and the Senior Project Manager will need to be comfortable working in a vibrant work environment with shifting priorities and responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Experience in management of projects with extensive size/complexity and moderate performance risk, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting, or a combination of education and experience.
Highly effective written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.
Ability to productively assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
Ability to balance customer expectations with project reality.

Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects.
A high level of proficiency in the Microsoft suite of applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with Tableau or similar data visualization software.
