You will be a senior member of the software development team of 3-5 software engineers responsible for the controls development of the proprietary energy storage solution, the key component in every storage offering. We seek a software developer with a passion for software design and extensive experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) and software version control. You will develop the proprietary Digital Control System (DCS) and proprietary Market Dispatch Unit (MDU), focusing on robustness, security, performance, scalability and maintainability. As part of the Solution Development team, be responsible for:
Development of the proprietary distributed control system, integrating grid scale battery and power conversion systems from industry leading manufacturers.
Design, code, debug and fully document control logic for the proprietary DCS and associated controllers and a wide variety of industrial equipment.
Design, develop and test proprietary controls and application models in MathWorks Simulink, Stateflow, C on a Linux platform.
Meet project timeline and budget while maintaining a learning environment that will improve capabilities for future larger scale deployments.
MA in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Engineering, or Mathematics from an accredited university with 10+ years of work experience.
Significant related work experience will be considered in lieu of masters degree Expertise in developing with C on Unix and Linux platforms is required.
Knowledge of Simulink and Stateflow is required.
Experience with Objective C and Swift is desired.
Experience with leading software development teams using Agile development methodologies.
Working knowledge of version control systems such as Subversion or Git, and bug/issue tracking tools such as JIRA.
Strong abstraction, algorithmic, software design, and programming skills.
Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle software development.
Familiarity with industrial and/or power generation operational and control systems is desirable.
Enthusiasm for getting things done, taking personal responsibility, adding value within a team setting, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 5% of the time.
