Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • The Senior Systems Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and documentation of complex portions of the Windows UI and FPGA embedded state-of-art ultrasound noninvasive high energy delivery. These devices incorporate multiple real time and non-real time processors communicating over several types of interfaces.
  • Windows is used to implement functionality including GUI, database, business logic, and external networking. Real Time control is implemented in a stack of FPGAs that communicate to the Windows based system. The windows system will access the internet on unknown networks.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure system is secure; protecting sensitive data of patients across the globe.
  • Requires deep understanding of Window, and embedded system operation is required.

  • Develops and applies complex concepts and proposes new and unique approaches, methods, procedures and designs with regular use of ingenuity, creativity and originality to researching technical issues.
  • Develops and applies complex concepts and proposes new and unique approaches, methods, procedures and designs with regular use of ingenuity, creativity and originality to researching technical issues.
  • Develop and assist in creating, updating risk analysis during various phases of product development.
  • Knowledge of and experience with systems and software requirements development for systems that can be implemented and are testable.
  • Understanding of code writing in C++ (required,) C#, scripting and related languages, ability to analyze code to determine test scenarios and know when to seek advise to determine test and validation requirements.
  • Ability to work in the lab environment and maintain the system configurations in readiness for testing.
  • Working knowledge of the difference of effort and tasks between IEC 62304 Class A, B, development, documentation, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of encryption and security requirements of the windows based systems, knowledge of windows operating systems, registry, device drivers usage, msc services configuration and testing, preparing embedded windows operating system for distribution into the product stream.
  • Approach to working technical issues that support deliverables in a team oriented mindset
  • Design reviews, forms processing for software releases, configuration management, documentation.
  • Responsible for specifying software functionality from system level requirements and use cases, effectively documenting these requirements, monitoring the develop of code writing, assist with code writing, and then performing integration and test to verify the systems and software requirements are going to be met in the final product.

Job Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Physics, Math or Electrical Engineering required
  • 7+ years of systems and software development required
  • Proficient in MS Office products, medical device documentation required
  • Experience using SSL and other encryption methods both programmatically and in standard network communications encompassing the broad range of security data across the technical spectrum required
  • Software test and release strategies and execution of controlled software delivery required
  • Ability to work effectively in team environment with both internal and design partners in order to perform system integrations, respond to and validate bug reports, assist with recreating scenarios and testing the solutions, including maintaining environment in the software laboratory required
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to meet milestone achievements required
  • Ability to multi-task required
  • Master s Degree in related technical field preferred
  • Software Development for medical devices preferred
  • 5+ years as a Senior Systems and Software Engineer preferred
  • Design Experience with real time systems preferred
  • Experience designing and running system tests and validations preferred
  • Systems and Software design and integration, GIT use of repositories to support phased in delivery in block release format of features and bug fixes in Agile format preferred
  • Previous experience with Class II/B software development preferred
