Job Title: Senior Technical Architect

Location: Washington, DC

Clearance Required: Eligibility for a Government Public Trust (SF-85) background investigation (US Citizenship required)

As a Senior Technical Architect, you'll lead a team of technical experts to deliver innovative, cost-effective and efficient IT solutions in support of US Government Federal customers. IT Solutions for our customers will span IT technologies including but not limited to enterprise infrastructure and support, mobile and remote services for personnel in the field, DevOps, Network Operations, Security Operations, Server and Storage management, and cloud.  In this role, the Senior Technical Architect will oversee the programs to ensure the solution implemented meets customer business, technical, and regulatory requirements for mission essential IT systems.  You will serve as an escalation point for engineers on complex and high-profile issues.  You will lead architecture discovery sessions, workshops and stakeholder interviews to plan and design enterprise solutions to address customer needs.


  • Understand customer needs to document and define system specifications

  • Plan and design the structure of a technical solution

  • Communicate system requirements to technical teams

  • Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods

  • Oversee assigned programs (e.g. conduct code review) and provide guidance to team members

  • Assist with solving technical problems when they arise

  • Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure

  • Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions

  • Provide consultative services on projects focused on architecture compliance, development and implementation of strategic technological directives.

  • Provide best practice recommendations and direction to the customer across multiple functional areas


  • 10+ years of related experience as a senior technical resource

  • Wide experience across multiple technology domains such as Storage, Networking, Server, Cloud, Security, and Applications

  • Ability to translate business goals and business architectures to technical architectures

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present concepts and recommendations to customer leadership.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, automation & orchestration, elastic scalability)

  • Proven experience in large, complex scale projects

  • Experience developing architectural standards and road maps


  • Experience managing major, complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products

  • Experience in data modeling, data migration, data analysis and reporting

  • Real-world implementation experience of CI/CD, Automation and cloud-native services

  • Experience with Agile techniques and methods

  • AWS or Azure based Cloud Architecture and migration skills and experience


  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 10 or more years’ experience in positions demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.



  • Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, 1 or more architect level certifications in another technical area (Server, Storage, Network, etc.)


Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area with overhead lighting. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
