Sr. Technical Business Analyst

San Francisco, CA

6 Month + Contract (extensions and/or FTE conversion possible)

Job Description:


The Analyst will partner with the other teams within Information Technology Services specifically the Infrastructure team responsible for Identity and Access Management team. The selected candidate will ensure successful implementation of new processes, systems and support for addressing the needs of the enterprise and to address deficiencies while creating new efficiencies throughout the organization.




  • Ability to use raw data to identify trends, patterns and problems as related to business process, process design and engineering.

  • Broad knowledge of software development concepts such as Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), website design and scripting.

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint).

  • Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.

  • In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.

  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines, demonstrates problem solving skills.

  • Ability to quickly acquire a thorough knowledge of internal business processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated skills with testing and test planning.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Talent to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

  • Capable of prioritizing effectively according to department needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables.

  • Experience with all of the different software design principals.

  • Ability to handle multiple work streams as well as daily responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations.

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with departments to streamline or replace spreadsheet or paper-based processing - use of data analysis skills required to recommend technical solutions when appropriate.

  • Applies technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define complex systems.scope and objectives with an understanding of applicable business practices, processes, systems and industry standards to meet end-user needs.

  • Understands Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and keep help to identify projects and enhancements, initiate and plan projects and enhancements, complete analysis, logical and physical designs, manage implementation and oversee ongoing support and maintenance.

  • Plan and execute unit, integration for post development testing before engaging users for acceptance testing.

  • Ensure opportunities to enhance or automate identity and access management are realized.

  • Provides expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing complex systems and procedures.

  • Creates complex specifications for systems when needed to meet end-user requirements.

  • Involved in developing complex user interface designs.

  • Participates in cross-functional teams to address complex business or systems issues.

  • Work with developers and application owners to evaluate and identify opportunities - examples would include replacing outdated or inefficient applications.

  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for approval of business process and procedural documentation.

  • Recommends and implement changes in processes and procedures.

  • Negotiates with stakeholders on the creation of specifications.

  • Use standard waterfall or agile processes -create documents or online resources for project and enhancement collateral.

  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes business and user needs, documenting requirements and revising existing system and process logic issues as necessary.

  • Improve development and implementation processes, using prototyping, joint application development, computer aided design and other tools to ensure projects and enhancements meet or exceed planned requirements.

  • Motivate people to participate in change - have strong skills to be able to understand the interplay between people, process and technology, and be able to seamlessly view the impact of key proposed changes from the perspective of each person.

  • Help develop a communication strategy to position services for successful adoption.

  • Coordinate post-project review with key project members to determine root cause of success.

  • Create working teams for projects and enhancements - teams could include owners, managers, system administrators, developers, analysts, testers and users.
