Job Description


Working across all of our camera market segments--automotive, security, drones, wearable, and virtual reality--the Technical Writer will interface with the marketing team to define which product documents are required and will work with engineering teams in the US and Asia to obtain key source material. From there, the Writer is responsible for editing, combining, organizing, formatting, and streamlining the source material into clear, effective documents. In addition, the Writer will be responsible for updating existing documentation such as datasheets, API documentation, and SDK materials as product changes occur.


Requirements:  


6-8 years of experience in technical writing/documentation


Experience editing technical material written by non-native English speakers


BA/BS in English, Communications, Computer Science, EE, or equivalent


Strong written and verbal communication skills


Multi-tasking skills including the ability to schedule and deliver multiple assignments in parallel


Detail-oriented work habits


Expert in MS Word/Open Office


Experience with Adobe InDesign

* A solid understanding of text variables, conditional text, and cross-references

* Experience working with 500-page documents or longer preferred


Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (preferred)


Must be self-motivated, with the ability to deliver on both last-minute and planned assignments


Writing samples from previous work including technical material / instructions with consistent formatting and typographical conventions required



Additional Qualifications:  


A desire and ability to learn about new and unfamiliar technologies


Experience working for a semiconductor, systems, or Software Company deploying SDKs to multiple customers is a plus


Experience with documenting APIs is a plus


Ability to identify gaps in documentation and proactively initiate fixes
