Understand planning and network design/optimization as it pertains to supply chain processes and procedures
Work closely with the project manager to gather, manipulate, analyze, summarize and report client data
Collaborate with Deloitte and client teams to identify, diagnose, communicate, and resolve issues with data
Proactively identify and communicate issues that may impact project schedule or quality
Take ownership of analysis and drive them to completion, involving the client and Deloitte project manager as appropriate
Work closely with the project manager to design, develop, and integrate material for client presentations; support during presentations to the client
Identify and communicate ways to improve Deloitte's tools, accelerators, methodology and "operate" capabilities
Develop and maintain lasting client relationships by becoming a trusted advisor

Knowledge and expertise to handle inbound and outbound transportation dynamics, pricing, constraints etc. across multiple modes into an optimization model (e.g. FTL, TL, LTL, Parcel, Intermodal, rail, ocean etc.)
Knowledge and expertise to understand warehouse and DC operations and translate to modeling inputs (fixed/variable costs, capacities, constraints etc.)
Modeling knowledge and expertise in network optimization - baseline and optimized scenario modeling, center of gravity analysis, sequential objective optimization, landed cost analysis, scenario comparative assessment, sensitivity analysis etc.
Deep understanding of tradeoffs b/w various drivers of network costs - number of distribution facilities, freight, warehousing, inventory, service levels etc.
Acquaintance with commonly available and relevant benchmarks to address any data gaps during model development (freight rates benchmarks across modes & regions, labor cost benchmarks by function/region, typical capex investments in automation/material handling, inventory turns etc.)
Appreciation for both qualitative (strategic imperatives, risk, service experience etc.) and quantitative (costs, service levels etc.) factors to determine an optimal network solution
Ability to conceptualize, build, and/or enhance network optimization models; and develop comprehensive output reports and visualizations from optimization scenarios
Ability to quickly update or adapt existing models to address new objectives (cost min. vs profit maximization etc.); supply chain changes (facility closure, customer addition, NPI etc.)
Ability to automate repetitive tasks in model building and output reporting once model has reached steady state for timely and rapid reporting
