Work you'll do/Responsibilities

This role serves as the Logistics Sourcing and Category Management

interface with the stakeholders both internally and externally. This role

provides Sourcing expertise, and day to day management for assigned

categories/Subcategories and assigned category teams.

- Develop and

execute logistics sourcing initiatives, in support of the overall program

savings plan within the following sub-categories: Truckload, LTL, Parcel,

Ocean, Warehouse, express, and logistics services

- Represent thought leadership and a

deep understanding of category cost drivers and market intelligence

- Develop and own Logistics

Sourcing process efforts and associated key stakeholder relationships

- Ensure identified

savings is realized by monitoring monthly compliance and leading corrective

action efforts

- Identify, lead,

and implement ongoing continuous cost improvement initiatives.

- If applicable, manage

a team in day to day category management activities, meeting customer


- Coach and develop

team members in their performance and professional development

- Grow category

knowledge to expert levels, creating marketing opportunities for team and

greater supply network synergy and value through M&A events.



* Master's in business

administration and or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,

Operations Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Process Management,

STEM, Analytics, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

* 6-10 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, category management or

industry Deep experience with category knowledge of Logistics/Transportations

Services Sourcing

* Proven

track record of leading sourcing teams to success implementing and delivering

large strategic sourcing projects

* Ability to forge meaningful

relationships with direct and indirect resources, producing results


* Experience developing accurate and

well-defined Logistics Category Savings Plans

* Experience delivering process

improvements to enhance savings opportunities

* Ability to manage work to quality

and timeliness standards

* Developing People (coaching to

improve against competency models, highly developed IDP plans, promotion

according to IDPs, succession plan, low undesirable turnover, high employee


* Experience with Sourcing and

optimization tools related to the logistics/transportation category

* Must be willing to live and work

in the Gilbert, AZ area

* Must have ability to travel up to



* Demonstrated

ability to deliver consistent results against goals and objectives

* Demonstrated

track record in generating positive customer, internal or external,

acknowledgement of service

* Demonstrated

ability to manage projects, inclusive of performance metrics

* Demonstrated

ability to effectively produce results through a team of direct reports

* Demonstrated

ability to identify, coach, develop, and promote talent, achieving success in

total people development

* Procurement

optimization tools experience (e.g. JDA, CombineNet, Trade Extensions,

TiContract, Bravo)

* Transportation

Network modeling tools experience (e.g. Llamasoft)

* Routing

and scheduling tools (e.g. Descartes' RoadShow, UPS RoadNet)

* Transportation

management systems (Oracle, JDA, MercuryGate, Manhattan Associates)

* 7+ years

of relevant prior consulting and/or industry experience
