*** This is a 2nd position like the one we just placed.
This position will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing our future state materials and logistics processes to support engine manufacturing. Scope of the project will be all materials and logistics processes within the 4 walls of the plant, including material receiving and put-away, setting up necessary materials racking and other storage equipment, implementing re-pack and kitting operations, creating processes for picking material from inventory and delivering to point-of-use to support machining and assembly operations, and developing processes for shipment of engines and other materials to our customers. I already have some good folks with Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain background who will do a majority of the strategy planning and project management, but this person will certainly have input. I would see this role as more of an entry level position; someone who may want to pursue a logistics or supply chain career path. This would be ideal for a recent graduate who wants to spend time learning shop floor processes. This position will be a do-er , working out on the shop floor with the production folks implementing the process that the team develops. This position has a strong possibility for becoming permanent for someone who steps in and performs, shows good teamwork skills, etc.
