Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Support Desk candidate in Atlanta, Georgia (GA).

Essential Functions:
* Support Desk will provide technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software, and peripherals
* Resolve client issues on the first call, with minimum supervision, and consistently improve personal technical knowledge and understanding
* Takes ownership of the problem and follows through on resolution with end users and other pertinent IT staff
* Perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for typical problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention
* As a Support Desk, you will diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems
* This position will support multiple platforms including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and videoconferencing equipment, printers, Access Points installs, network patching
* This position may require independent work, sharing information and assisting others
* Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function
* Support Desk works with multiple vendors to resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner
* Resolve client issues on the first call, with minimum supervision, and consistently improve personal technical knowledge and understanding
* Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems
* Participate in hardware and software reviews
* Diagnosis and recommend purchases
* Support Desks analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization
* Document monthly procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences

REQUIREMENTS:
* Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Or 2 to 3 years of related experience and/or training; Or equivalent combination of education and experience
* A+ or Net+ certification completed
* 3+ years of hands-on PC repair experience, software repair, helpdesk, and phone support
* 1 year of Customer Service skills preferred
* Experience working with ticketing systems and/or project management software
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair PCs from XP to Windows 10 and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
* Great organizational & time management skills
* Ability to handle incoming phone calls and speak to customers in a professional manner
* Can handle basic level escalations, but must recognize when to escalate higher level problems to appropriate individuals
* Able to work flexible schedules to cover the 24-hour requirements of the job; This includes some nights and weekends
* Demonstrate an ability to quickly analyze problems using deductive logic
* Technical understanding of the Internet, URLs, and email; Experience with various applications including LAN/WAN, Active Directory, networking, and Voice over IP
