PURPOSE:
This incumbent is responsible for leading the Infrastructure solution, implementation, and supporting the daily operations in the area of Microsoft products like Windows, 0365 suite of products, Active directory and VMware products. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to be the technical lead on all Windows, ESX and Storage environments to include application subject matter expertise on VMWare, Virtual desktops, Unified Communications, Imaging, Citrix and Exchange. This individual will be responsible for leading the day to day delivery and support of all End User services infrastructures. Being the point of contact for End User Technologies. Implementing the hands-on, practical technology work needed to support solution delivery. This work involves applying systems integration, development, system design, maintaining, configuring, administering, project management and the coordination of service.
The position requires strong troubleshooting, project management, and effective communication skills tocollaborate with other technical teams on complex infrastructure designs or difficult troubleshooting.

SCOPE DATA:
• This includes providing direction to the team and leading the installation, operation, function, availability, and maintenance of server hardware and software, systems and peripherals. The incumbent oversees all projects in the section and reports the status to the End Users Services manager either during 1:1 or weekly status reports. Perform other duties as specified by Manager. The support and management End User Technology platform and configures/maintains storage in the SBPASC environment. Providing and supporting high system availability. Accountable for ensuring the current service level requirements\agreements (SLR\SLA) are met. Provides daily support Monday through Friday, extended time may be required to meet project deadlines for system upgrades, project support and system emergency. Candidate must take on a leadership role on the team. Must be able to work flexible hours, which will sometimes include weekends and holidays. Position is subject to being "on call" for after-hours support situations 24x7, 365. Travel between all CareFirst locations will be required day or night depending on need.

Server/Virtualization Infrastructure Management

This position's primary responsibility is building a quality infrastructure solution and implementation, leading the efficient operation, development and administration of the corporate server infrastructure. Below is the skillset required

10+ Years’ Experience
  • Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience.
  • Extensive experience as primary engineer for Microsoft Exchange on-premises.
  • Extensive experience as primary engineer for Microsoft Active Directory on-premises.
  • Expert knowledge of Internet email delivery technologies and anti-spam techniques.
  • Extensive experience with Identity and Access Management protocols and practices.

5+ Years’ Experience
  • Experience managing ADFS and hybrid cloud identity.
  • Experience managing Office 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, InTune, and OneDrive.
  • Experience managing Office 365 Exchange hybrid configuration.
  • Experience using PowerShell and other automation tools.
  • Experience managing virtual servers and networking.
  • Experience managing endpoint configurations and security.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and security.

Other Experience
  • Adhere to standard service level agreements, for heartbeat and day-to-day support.
  • Ensure that change management process is properly followed for environment changes.
  • Interact with customers both internal and external at all levels to provide high-level of professional customer care for all clients.
  • Exhibits poise and confidence when working with and communicating to our customers and vendors.
  • Act as interface with all members of the IT infrastructure, Operations and Security team keeping management and peers informed, disseminate information as needed.

Project Management & Presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of subject matter to be able to Interface with team members on an ongoing basis to ensure installed systems and applications are performing as required and meets the business objectives of the FEPOC. Must possess the skills to work with the less experienced Systems Engineers in interfacing with our internal and external customers.
  • Creation of detailed project plans in support of assigned larger projects related to technologies required support End User Technologies.Takes the leadership role for the team's assigned projects.

On-call support and SME on Datacenter Techologu
  • Assists the Principal Engineer in the evaluation and integration of complex, emerging server, network based and imaging technology, which aligns with business strategy and initiatives for internal as well as external customers. Expand technical and business knowledge through reading, research, on-the-job training, and classroom training.
  • This position is also subject to being "on call" for situations requiring immediate resolution. Travel to Datacenter, and facility to fix systems.

This position is subject to a Level 6C security requirement which includes but is not limited to, information confidentiality, HIPPA, Sarbanes Oxley and code of conduct policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Position has no direct reports but is responsible for taking the lead role on the team and providing less experienced Systems Engineers with direction and guidance. Overseeing and accountability for team projects. This includes mentoring and coaching the less experienced engineers. Will also lead Vulnerability remediation, Patching, remediate unsupported platform to supported version, systems upgrades or related projects, directing the work of other engineers.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
• College Degree or 8-10 years related work experience, or equivalent total experience. Candidate must have extensive experience in Windows Operating System Platform, VMWare ESXi, VxRail, EMC Storage, VDI, MS O365 product suites like Exchange, ProPlus, SharePoint, OneDrive, Citrix, Unified Communications (MS Teams, Video Conferencing Technologies), Imaging, Exchange, Active Directory and group policy. Candidate must have extensive experience and clear understanding of enterprise backup and restore technology, HA and Disaster Recovery technology. Complex understanding and experience with interoperability between Windows and network architecture issues. Candidate must have extensive experience in Data center technology problem resolution and tuning.

  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification and two or more of the following certifications based on primary responsibility or related work experience:
