Job Description

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Performing open- and closed-loop system performance analysis of new advanced architectures in comparison with existing paradigms. Working with internal engineering teams and external customers to optimize and characterize new device components and features as well as novel system architectures. These activities will entail choosing the appropriate simulation tools/environment; constructing or modifying component models including memory devices, controllers, interconnects, and processors; verification, generating or acquiring relevant workloads; constructing performance monitoring; and working with RTL and verification engineers to ensure designs are realized properly. The scope will span from block-level to full system-level modeling, analysis and benchmarking.  Candidates should have strong knowledge of hardware systems modeling including successful industry experience with modeling languages and development of cycle-approximate models for interconnects and memory controllers in large SoC projects while working in a collaborative environment.  The successful applicant will be responsible for creating innovative solutions, modeling, and analyzing them to demonstrate their benefits and tradeoffs.
Successful candidate for this position will have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering; or Computer Science and 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree and 6+ year of experience, or a PhD
Must have C/C++ and SystemC experience; SystemVerilog and Python experience is a plus
Must have an understanding of how to use the C++ Standard Template Library (STL)
Exposure to software development practices
Strong exposure to computer architecture analysis and design tradeoffs
Exposure to HDL development flows and processes
Experience in modeling for hardware systems
A strong knowledge through academic coursework or experience in DRAM and NAND memory systems, as well as other memory types is preferred
Exposure to operating system (OS) memory management is preferred
Exposure to virtual machine (VM) performance analysis is a plus
Strong working knowledge of architecture tradeoff analysis and modeling tools, commercial and in-house
Ability to quickly react and adapt to changes based on modeling results
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal communication and written skills
Must be highly organized and self-motivated
