Job Description

The role requires desktop support including software, hardware and networking to end-users in the form of technical support and documentation. This includes proactive support and reactive disaster control measures, as well as user education and general help desk support.

Job Description:

  • Provide Help Desk hardware and software support for all users (including those working remotely):

Identifies problems, determines nature and extent of support needed and provides or coordinates appropriate corrective action

Responsible for desktop operations, assuring maximum uptime for desktop productivity software.

Provides hardware support, including maintenance of printers and computers, installation of software and additions, moves or configuration changes

  • Maintain printers, copiers and user devices
  • Provide computer equipment setup and breakdown for deployment, conferences, training classes and specialrequests
  • Maintain technology inventory/database
  • Determine urgency and nature of user computer issues to determine priority of how to handle and solve problems
  • Ensure IT policies are appropriately adhered to
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment while making suggestions related to end user issues
  • Develop and enforce database standards and procedures
  • Participate in logical and physical database design
  • Research new technologies
  • Recommend improvements to company network

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PDQ Inventory, PDQ Deploy, PCs, laptops, printers and multifunction machines
  • 1 to 3 years prior work experience in a help desk support or client service role
  • Excellent client service skills, with strong listening skills and the ability to articulate the plan for resolution clearly, in person and via phone
  • Ability to understand the level of urgency and importance of a request in relation to business needs, and respond appropriately
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy along with strong organizational skills, must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the ability to follow through completion
  • BA/BS degree required Computer Science preferred but not required
