Can you envison being a key player on the Communications and Information Technology Services (CITS) program in Stuttgart, Germany? CITS represents IT transformation and innovation on a large project with the shared objective to sustain and optimize mission critical operations and provides full life-cycle O&M and Engineering support to EUCOM and AFRICOM. What a Systems Administrator (IPVT) in Stuttgart, Germany does at CSRA?
  • Identifies - installing, upgrading, maintaining and providing recommendations for enhancements to the existing AFRICOM IPTV network.
  • Strategizes - work directly with the network shop to integrate new systems onto the network as well as trouble shoot any network issues that may occur.
  • Build - responsible for working with the J6 to build and maintain a list of channels that can be viewed on the IPTV network.
  • Flexible - will require an on call rotation to support after hours IPTV headend and VIP user issues.

Responsibilities:




Here are a few more details about the role:The IPTV System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the existing AFRICOM IPTV system. The IPTV system consists of satellite dishes, a satellite headend, VBRICK server and set top boxes. The SA will perform weekly, monthly a quarterly PMI checks on the system and will repair or provide recommendations for resolving any issues found. The SA will also provide support as needed to the AV team supporting various AV conference rooms and work tickets for adding new channels and set top boxes to the network. The SA is responsible for tracking all equipment warranties and working with the equipment venders to provide solutions for equipment that is no longer covered under warranty or end of life. Required Skills:
  • Strong working Knowledge of VBRICK servers and set top boxes.
  • Working Knowledge of integrated and nonintegrated video conferencing systems to include but not limited to.
    • Extron
    • Planar
    • Clear One
    • Think Logical
    • Crown
    • BRG
    • AMX
  • Experience in Audio Visual Solutions to include trouble shooting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Satellite hardware including dish pointing and receiver configurations.
  • Basic understanding of network infrastructures and the ability to resolve any network issues with the network shop.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Qualifications:






  • BS or equivalent + 2 yrs related experience, or MS + 0 yrs experience
Qualifications / Certifications
  • CompTIA Security+ (or other certification IAW DoD 8570.1 Technical Level II)
  • One of the following computing environment certification is required
    • CISCO (CCNA/CCDA)
    • MCSD/MCSE
    • Unix Sys Admin
    • Red Hat RHCSA or RHCE
    • MCP
  • 3-5 years of audio visual experience, including control systems (AMX)
  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting a satellite systems.
  • 5 years’ experience in video conferencing support
  • InfoComm CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) Certification (Desired)
Special Requirements
  • Candidates must have an active TS-SCI
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Shift work may be required

  • On Call rotation is required
  • Must meet TESA requirements
