-Installs new software releases and system upgrades.
-Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
-Performs system backups and recovery.
-Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
-Performs a variety of tasks.
-Works under limited supervision.  
-Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
-A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
-Candidate should have more than 4 years’ work experience in relevant field.
-Designs, builds, modifies, maintains, and deploys mediawiki server instances in virtual machines.
-Supports and/or installs software operating systems, applications, and application extensions.
-Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
-Provides technical support to project team members.
-Demonstrates knowledge/experience in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
-Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
-A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Key Activities:

-Create/maintain/tune mediawiki installations inside VMWare virtual server environments; Support enhancements in design, develop and test web pages; Deploy to production and lower environments

-Set up Mediawiki Namespaces; apply security models; search services; scripting;; maintain PHP and CSS configurations

-Build/use Mediawiki Templates (including variables and conditional text through parser functions)

-Create / implement and maintain web pages/services

-Build, modify Stored Procedures, Views, and Table structures for new initiatives or enhancements for existing applications

-Application Unit testing and Quality Assurance

-Train others how to maintain and administer the Mediawiki site

Other Activities:

-Request for Changes submittal and presentation to the Change Control Board.

-Service request monitoring, scheduling, updating.

-Work flow diagrams, technical requirements and practice, procedure, process documentation.

 
Required Skills
 
-May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related area and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
-Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
-Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
-Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary.
-Travel may be required.
 
Ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-Web Service Stacks/Technologies/Servers: Apache, MySQL, PHP, IIS, Web Services
-Languages: PHP (required), SQL (required).
-Lifecycle development of web applications.
-Version control software: git, BitBucket.
 
Other Skills:
-SQL Server/Database Development/Administration
-SQL queries, SQL views, JIRA.
