Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior System Administrator to join our team in the Chantilly, VA area to provide unparalleled support to our customer and to begin an exciting and rewarding career within ManTech in a leadership position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr. System Administrator is a thought leader and expert responsible for design, coordination, installation, and maintenance of virtualized and stand-alone computer environments. They providing a full range of IT support services to customers proactively providing solutions and recommendation to improve customer experience and minimize negative user experiences with networks and systems they are in charge of or engage with.
The physical environment includes audio/visual capabilities including an AV network that connects computer and network end points to two primary Video wall capabilities. This AV network is backed by a Government network that has multiple compute, storage, and networking components.
Additionally, they will be able to independently investigate and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. They will recommend the design and configuration of operating systems and system applications to maximize performance and minimize system downtime.
The Sr. System Admin is highly experienced in virtualized IT infrastructure management and capabilities. They demonstrate a strong understanding of System/ Network administration functions in all modern Windows Server environments and/or Linux CENTOS/RHEL and UBUNTU environments including user provision and IDAM (e.g., AD or SSSD), DNS, GPOs, hardening and auditing.
The Sr. System Administrator will also have responsibilities to engage directly with mid to senior level customers. As such, they must also possess softer client engagement expertise to manage client expectations and communicate complex actions or technologies in terms and terminology accessible to the broadest customer audience technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems.
The Sr. Systems Administrator will work in a team environment and collaboration with other System administrators, networking administrators, and security professionals is a necessity. They will need to be able to interact and communicate (in writing and verbally) with teammates, stakeholders, product owners, and executives effectively and efficiently.
Finally, they Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers,
QUALIFICATIONS - Technical Expertise:
Configuring, managing, and maintaining virtualized computer environments a specific focus on delivering hands on experience with provisioning virtual hardware, storage, resources. The resource should have document experience with configuration/ administration for high-availability and failover services for cloud based infrastructures
Configuring and O&Ming of modern window server/desktop and Linux CENTOS/RHEL v6/7 and/or and Ubuntu OS
This includes the full stack of support services for a multi-server environment (e.g., IDAMS, Antivirus, Update, Audit, Security Scanning, etc)
Knowledge in security hardening of operating systems in a standalone environment as well as through GPOS
Ensure all software and hardware are upgraded, legally compliant and supported
Demonstrated experience with PKI based IDAM
Knowledge of configuring network routers, switches and firewalls, working with VLANs, and knowledge of routing protocols
Oversight and manage multiple security disciplines under supervision of Government program security management
Experience with creating and deploying workstation images using automated tools
Demonstrated experience with deploying server images using templates and/or AMIs
Create and monitor a scheduled network back-up plan
Research and obtain quotes for hardware/software based on customer requirements
Provide limited support for IT asset management and property control processes in managing inventories of workstations, monitors, and other related IT infrastructure through the customers control systems
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Communicate clearly via written and spoken English word to multiple stakeholders including peers, mid-level and senior leadership
Lift up to 50 lbs. climb at least a 5 ft ladder, and crawl under and behind desks under 3ft to access wiring
Work in a professional Office environment with limited government oversight
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
10 12 years w/High School Diploma
07-09 years w/associates or technical degree in Computer Science or related discipline
04-06 years w/Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Ten years work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support

CERTIFICATION AND CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II with at least 14 months prior to renewal (e.g. Security+ or CCNA Security certification) or candidates who can be compliant within 6 months of starting their position
Have an active TS/SCI level security clearance based on a SSBI within the last five years
Must have a valid CI Poly
