Currently, we are searching for a Systems Development Specialist to work in Concord NH. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, and drive innovation at the State of New Hampshire within the Department of Information Technology, Agency Software Division – Department of Transportation.
SCOPE OF WORK: Develop and maintain moderate to complex information systems, databases, and applications with emphasis on data warehousing techniques, data sharing, and dynamic reporting. Perform systems analysis and functional design as assigned. Propose/Evaluate alternative designs and make design recommendations. Identify impacts to existing systems.
Analyzes requirements, creates detailed specifications, and determines tools related to the design, development, and implementation of systems to meet Agency requirements, business goals and DoIT operating methods and procedures.
Codes, modifies, integrates, and maintains moderate to complex programs for a variety of business needs to meet project requirements.
Designs, creates, modifies, and maintains data warehouse ETL (extract, transform, load) feeds from various source systems. Determines and implements appropriate data feeds between data warehouse and other systems using knowledge of data warehouse concepts, technology, tools, and infrastructure.
Mentors others on data warehouse and workflow concepts. Communicates and collaborates with coworkers on programming standards, technique, and best practices.
Designs and develops reports, dashboards, and analyses using business intelligence tools and trains users in the use of end user reporting tools.
Writes and maintains technical and user documentation such as user guides, training materials, data flows, process diagrams, and system architecture diagrams.
Leads and/or participates in project development teams as assigned. Makes technical recommendations for improving system design and performance.
Plans, schedules, and performs various types of software testing.
Performs software maintenance in response to helpdesk requests. Investigates and corrects production problems and develops solutions to prevent future reoccurrence.
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least fifteen (15) credit hours in the field of computer sciences. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Five years' experience as a computer programmer or systems analyst associated with a late generation medium or large scale on-line computer systems or computer networks similar to the recruiting agency; at least two years of which shall have been involved with systems analysis. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Must be eligible to hold a valid New Hampshire driver's license and have access to transportation for use in statewide travel.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Oracle PL/SQL knowledge, knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, working knowledge of relational and dimensional database modeling required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Four years' experience in software development using various software development languages with the following preferred: Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Business Process Management, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), other BI/Reporting tools on MS Windows operating systems.
