Business Operational Concepts (BOC) is currently seeking a Systems Development and Deployment Engineer to work with our government client located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day operational services maintaining and developing standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures. The candidate will also perform testing, troubleshooting, deployments, installation and configuration of operating systems and software applications for endpoint and server builds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation.
Support development; operations and maintenance; engineering and architecture design; integration; and testing services of operating systems and software applications.
Provides verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
Develop overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of software is of quality to the program per the project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
Strong ability to install, troubleshoot and deliver COTS and custom applications in an enterprise environment.
Work ticket queues and document resolutions completely and accurately.
Provides technology-related recommendations, implementations, and upgrades.
Provide services for the preparation and deployment of operating systems and software applications utilizing remote methodologies.
Required (Minimum) Qualifications Education, Certification, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent post-high school education, military and/or work-related experience.
Minimum of 5+ years of Server IT support/administration experience.
Software quality assurance experience, verification, validation and test work experience
Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical problems
LAN/WAN networking supporting TCP/IP and VPN
Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Client and Server)
Microsoft Active Directory, including group-policy
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Microsoft SQL Server (2005 & up)
Hardware/Software installation and troubleshooting
Symantec Backup Exec
Patching and updates to servers and workstations using SCCM
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong Analytical Skills
Excellent organization and planning skills
Strong customer relations
Preferred Qualifications Education, Certification, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
ITIL V3 foundations certification preferred (Not Required).
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) for SCCM preferred (Not Required)
Public Trust or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.)
