The Home Depot in Marietta, GA is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to be part of the IT Security team that supports the corporate network, Store Network Services. In partnership with other groups inside and outside IT Security, The Systems Engineer- IT Network Security Architecture will work directly for the Network Perimeter Managers of Information Security to Plan and implement network security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data; work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and business units to investigate, implement, and support existing and future solutions. Plan and participate during architecture design activities of new and existing network security tools; this includes risk and impact assessments of various Network devices such as Juniper, Fortigates & Palo Alto Firewalls, NAC, Web Gateways environment.
The Systems Engineer work with Security Operations, Engineering and product teams in implementing network and security solutions that meet current and future needs of a growing enterprise, provide industry expertise for maintaining Corporate and DataCenter infrastructure on premise and cloud based google infrastructure, including storage connectivity, switching, routing and security; Leverage commercial and open source tools to continually monitor, detect and mediate network, applications, and ensure availability and resilience of infrastructure services to corporate users, vendors and our customers in Production and non-production environments. Performs configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms on mid-sized and smaller projects. Performs root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures and present to management. 50% - Support & Enablement:
Collaborates with product and project teams to understand needs and enable them with infrastructure
Leverages tooling and custom applications to monitor the operational status of applications, infrastructure, networks, databases, and security; optimizes and tunes performance as appropriate
Performs root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptions
Maintains, upgrades, and supports existing systems and infrastructure to ensure operational stability
Opens and manages vendor problem tickets to resolution
Produces in-house documentation around solutions
Monitors tools and proactively helps teams struggling with systems issues
Provides application support for software running in production
Supports the creation of scripts and tools that that drive automation and enable product teams and end users to move towards self service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- 1+ years experiencing in infrastructure security on premise and in cloud platforms
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Industry certifications in network and security are a plus (for example: CCNP/JNCIP Security, JNCIE Security)
- Knowledge of network scripting languages such as Python (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience with managing 802.1x across multiple OS and MDM platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android).
- Experience with Juniper or Alto Networks firewalls, Cisco ASA VPN
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP troubleshooting tools (tcpdump/wireshark/protocol analysis)
- Broad understanding of application protocols, including DNSSEC, Sinkhole, HTTPS, and TLS
- Thorough understanding of crypto protocols including SHA2, AES, PKI
- Monitoring and alerting champion to provide visibility into network infrastructure
