Opportunity Details:


Manages, defines, designs, and develops system requirements. Performs trade-off analyses of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, producibility, and other system or program requirements. Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Defines system support requirements to include monitoring, capacity, staffing, patching and upgrades. Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design. Evaluates vendor capabilities using processes similar to DAR to provide required products or services. Performs engineering studies and analysis, analyze system problems in support of development, develop system implementation and integration solutions. Develops concepts, provide requirements analysis, perform modeling and simulations, cost estimations, cost benefit analysis, familiar with engineering standards, industry best practices and vendor road maps. COTS hardware and software interoperability, new technologies assessments, statistical studies, predictive analysis, project planning, script development, etc. Maintains system requirements, maintain system specifications and manuals, develops new system requirements, supports technical change boards, develops and facilitates business processes, performs system performance and data analysis, provide corrective system resolutions, collects and analyzes statistical data, project planning, risk identification and mitigation strategy, cost estimations, cost benefit analysis, COTS interoperability analysis, network connectivity resolution, develops and manages software baselines as well as software obsolescence.#Gdjobs #dicepost #cjobs


Conduct end-to-end management and maintenance of a mid-sized highly specialized mission-focused network of Storage Area Network switches, arrays, and NAS appliances working in an integrated cross-operating system environment. Operating systems include Linux (CentOS, RedHat) and Windows. Develop and deploy methods for smarter and faster support of the environment. Automate routine tasks. Research, test, and deploy potential new technologies of value to end users. Simplify architecture and infrastructure.
  • Provision, configure, and recover storage from end devices and servers
  • Provision, configure, and manage NetApp NAS
  • Configure and manage SAN and FCoE connections
  • Monitor and manage encryption systems
  • Provide support for and interface with Hitachi, IBM, NetApp, and Veritas Netbackup equipment
  • Research and implement performance tuning and enhancements to existing and newly developed systems to gain the most performance from existing hardware
  • Working as a part of a larger team of Engineers and Administrators, assist in routine tasks such as hardware maintenance, patching, and application support

  • Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software products
  • Secure systems to comply with certification and accreditation requirements
  • Capture and document Standard Operating Procedures
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with government client


Must currently hold an active TS/SCI with Favorable Polygraph security clearanceYears Of Experience:9-12 Years; Required Skills

    • Senior level Storage system engineering experience
    • Database interaction and support experience
    • Strong troubleshooting and support skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills

    • Experience with Hitachi Enterprise Storage arrays; NetApp NAS devices; Cisco Networking and SAN switches
    • Experience with Industry standard network monitoring systems (Nagios preferred)
    • Experience with Enterprise Backup products (Symantec NetBackup preferred)
    • Experience with server and desktop virtualization (VMWare preferred)
    • Experience with standard tools such as kickstart/jumpstart, configuration management (Puppet), Spacewalk
    • Experience with basic Data Center Management, to include power and cooling planning
