Systems Engineer Level 3 to join our team in Washington, DC.
Coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols. Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the Government.
Performs all the duties of a System Engineer 2 with increased technical proficiency.
Performs all aspects of the installation, maintenance, and usage of a large-scale local/wide area network public and private wireless network.
Manages network performance and maintains security.
Assumes a technical leadership or supervisory role as required.
Monitors server resource allocation/utilization and performs capacity planning.
Executes test procedures to assess systems performance, identifies and troubleshoots difficult or unusual problems, and analyzes results for the implementation of system upgrades.
Maintains expertise with, and advises management on, current technologies
Two (2) years of experience being responsible for deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
Three (3) years of experience working with computer network telecommunications, Windows Server operating systems, and the TCP/IP protocol.
Three (3) of experience administering network management protocols and related standard tools.
Three (3) of experience working with network-based application software, including Exchange, Citrix, and SCCM.
Three (3) of experience providing support in telecommunications, local area network, computer security issues, and established security practices.
Three (3) of experience in testing and implementing PC/LAN technologies and computer system applications.
Three (3) years of experience in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer network, including two (2) years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
Three (3) years of experience in a large organization responsible for deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
Three (3) years of experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions
