Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer to provide support and sustainment to a wide range of deployed software.
\nThe successful candidate will join a team that develops, builds, and operates prototype space and airborne lasercom terminals
\n-Persons in this position will be asked to prototype new concepts, participate in the development of systems, and provide support and sustainment to deployed systems.
\n-Candidate must be willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
\n-Team members work with inter-disciplinary teams to develop and support advanced lasercom system prototypes, and testing with externally developed systems.
\n-Work includes software design, code implementation and unit testing to support a wide variety of high-fidelity software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop prototypes.
\n-Contractors will participate in developing cross platform, distributed and multi-processor object oriented code in support of lasercom applications.
\n-Active Secret clearance
\n- MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus 3 years minimum relevant experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum relevant experience.
\n- Experience developing software with hardware interfaces through the complete life-cycle from requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration and support
\n-Knowledge of basic networking protocols
\n-Design and implement unit tests to verify code
\n-Communication skills: Willingness to listen to the needs of engineers and the ability to articulate solutions to engineers in other disciplines who possess little understanding of software systems.
\n-Software/platforms: C/C++, Java, JSON, XML, Linux, Windows.
\n -Developing, debugging, and executing software in a Windows and Linux environment.
\n- Requires understanding of object oriented analysis and design in addition to programming language skills in C++ and Java.
\n-Experience with software configuration management. Subversion and Git
\n-Formal software development processes, software architecture, and VV&A processes such as Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
\n-Strong background in Unified Modeling Language (UML) and understanding of the associated behavioral and structural diagrams describing software.
\n-Background in Model Based Design or Model Based Systems Engineering with SysML is desired.
