TekScape Systems engineers provide expertise in the design, deployment and operational management of our clients' server, storage, and end-points infrastructure. We excel at proactive service, implementing designs from simple topologies to the latest technologies while emphasizing best practices. Our customer-facing approach to understanding client goals ensures successful project managed service delivery to client satisfaction.

We are currently looking for a qualified candidate with proven systems and end-user support skills within the framework of VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, AWS and Mac OS-centric environments. Ideal candidates should enjoy working in a team environment and looking to advance their career and take their system engineering skills to the next level.  This role is a key position within the Managed Services team and will be called upon to resolve the highest level technical issues.

Job Summary and day-to-day tasks:

  • Responsible for operations of TekScape’s Cloud solutions to include both private cloud and public cloud vendors
  • Manage Server, Storage, and virtualization environments for clients and internally
  • Work with team members to take a proactive approach and, also respond to and resolve client issues by providing escalated incident management, some examples are:
  • Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory Exchange, SQL, SharePoint
  • Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Remote access solution support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
  • Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
  • Work with team to plan server migration and deployment projects
  • Troubleshoot network file share access and basic networking issues
  • Engage and manage 3rd-party vendors to achieve expedient resolution
  • Serve as a point of escalation to troubleshoot advanced Microsoft Windows desktop, printing networking issues for workstations supported by backend platforms
  • Serve as a point of escalation to troubleshoot Microsoft Office issues on Windows and occasionally Mac OS X
  • Proactively communicate the status of any engineering efforts to internal and external stakeholders according to company guidelines in a concise, accurate and timely manner
  • Properly manage personal workload and work assignments from clients, team leads and management to achieve timely and efficient resolution and completion
  • Engineers work in a team environment to deliver an exceptional level of technical and customer service to TekScape IT’s customers in the New York City region and the Greater New York/New Jersey region.
  • Work within a ticket system resolving client issues and requests
  • Accurately document all work done in internal and client systems
  • Participate in an escalation on-call rotation

 Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 plus years’ experience with the maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting of various technology environments
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • A positive sales enabling attitude and curiosity for learning new technology
  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting multiple Microsoft Windows server environments of at least 50 users (Windows Server 2008 – 2016)
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting an Exchange email environment (Exchange Server 2010 – 2016)
  • Solid understanding of hardware, software in Windows and Mac OS environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Mac server technologies (2008 and up)
  • Experience with Public Cloud Migrations and Management (Azure & AWS)
  • Hands on experience maintaining and troubleshooting a VMWare Environment with at least 3 hosts, vCenter, & shared storage
  • Review & Discover new clients Windows / VMWare / Storage Environment and recommend ways to improve it
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a SAN storage infrastructure Hands on experience maintaining and troubleshooting a VMWare Environment with at least 3 hosts, vCenter, & shared storage
  • A strong understanding of Network protocols in relation to systems requirements, able to effectively troubleshoot
  • Proficiency with systems protocols such as TCP/IP, AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, 2FA, Group Policy, ADFS, SMB/CIFS
  • BDR & backup technologies for VMWare & Microsoft Servers
  • Excellent written to and verbal communication skills applicable to a customer service facing role
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as sound, independent judgment

 

Pluses:

  • Experience installing SAN Storage and configuring it with VMWare / Hyper V
  • Experience installing or upgrading Microsoft Exchange
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a Hyper-V environment with a Failover Cluster or managed by SCCM
  • Previous experience working within ConnectWise (Automate) ecosystem
  • Scripting
  • Microsoft, VMWare, and Cisco certifications
